Thermocouples for Metallurgy
Exima PRO supplies specialized thermocouples designed for aggressive metallurgical environments.
Our high-temperature sensors, rated up to 1,800°C, provide accurate monitoring in blast furnaces, ladles, continuous casting machines and other critical process areas. Premium thermoelectric alloys and protective alumina or silicon-carbide sheaths ensure long service life, even in direct contact with molten metal and slag.
Industrial Thermocouple Range
This intelligent digital display series supports multiple programmable input types. A single instrument can accept thermocouple, RTD, voltage, current, resistance and frequency signals. Display ranges and alarm control can be configured on site and used with a wide range of sensors and transmitters for temperature, pressure, level, capacity and force measurement, display, adjustment, alarm control, data acquisition and recording.
Industrial assembled thermocouples are used as temperature transducers together with display instruments, recorders and electronic controllers. They directly measure the temperature of liquids, vapors, gases and solid surfaces across production processes from 0 to 1,800°C. Exima PRO supplies B, S, R, K and E thermocouple types.
Flexible sheathed thermocouples provide excellent flexibility, heat resistance, fast thermal response and long service life. Used with display instruments, recorders and controllers, they measure liquids, vapors, gases and solid surfaces from 0 to 800°C. Exima PRO supplies E, K and T thermocouple types.
Sampling Product Range
Samplers provide fast, safe and economical collection of molten-metal samples. Multiple versions support application-specific sampling and analysis procedures. The representative sample is ready for chemical analysis after rapid surface cleaning, while the sampler design minimizes laboratory preparation time.
The analyzer evaluates the solidification-temperature curve of hot metal. Key points on the curve are used to calculate carbon equivalent, carbon, silicon, manganese and spheroidization values. Detection takes about 90 seconds, enabling operators to adjust molten-metal composition using automatically calculated additions of carburizer, ferrosilicon and steel scrap.
Iron Quality Analysis Series
The computerized rapid thermal analyzer evaluates the solidification-temperature curve of molten iron. It automatically calculates carbon equivalent, carbon and silicon content, spheroidization rate and tensile strength, then determines the required additions of carburizer, ferrosilicon and steel scrap. This enables effective pre-furnace composition adjustment and optimal casting-quality control.
This next-generation molten-iron control instrument combines stable performance with high measurement accuracy. It captures the thermal effects of solidification in real time from the cooling curve and rapidly determines carbon, silicon, carbon equivalent, tensile strength, liquidus temperature and eutectic temperature.
Continuous Temperature Measurement Range
The easy-to-use analysis cup delivers fast, reliable results. High-precision type K or type S thermocouples measure the cooling curve and carbon content of molten metal. Type S cups are used for carbon measurement, while type K cups measure cerium, carbon and silicon in cast iron.
The tundish continuous-temperature system consists of a temperature tube, detector, signal processor and display. It continuously monitors molten-steel temperature by analyzing infrared radiation. The WLX-II system provides high accuracy, fast response and strong interference resistance, with real-time display, recording and transmission to the main control room. Proven at multiple steel plants, it is a reliable alternative to platinum-rhodium thermocouple systems.
The continuous temperature tube consists of a connecting tube and refractory protective sleeve linked to the detector. Standard lengths are 850, 1,000 and 1,100 mm, with diameters of 85 or 90 mm. Custom dimensions are available to suit tundish depth and molten-steel corrosion conditions.
Oxygen and Hydrogen Measurement Range
The oxygen measurement system provides fast, accurate and direct determination of oxygen in molten steel. The easy-to-use package includes an oxygen instrument, lance, probe, large display and extension cable.
TOX probes measure temperature and free-oxygen ppm in liquid metal in under 10 seconds. The two millivolt signals are processed and displayed as temperature and oxygen values, while dissolved carbon or aluminum content is calculated automatically.
The oxygen lance consists of a rod, connecting tip, handle and extension cable. Its simple, user-friendly design supports aluminum and oxygen probes with S, B and R calibration.
The compensation cable provides cold-junction compensation between the instrument and oxygen lance. Imported fluoropolymer insulation and a protective sheath offer resistance to heat, water, corrosion, acids, alkalis, chemicals, wear, aging and flame. The operating range is −60 to 205°C.
The large display is installed above the work area so operators can immediately see measurement results and make process decisions. Four windows simultaneously show molten-steel temperature, oxygen, carbon and acid-soluble aluminum values received from the oxygen instrument.
The system provides direct, rapid determination of hydrogen in molten steel. Combined and sublance probes support temperature measurement, sampling, oxygen and carbon detection, and bath-level measurement in multiple configurations. Automated sublance measurement reduces converter turnaround time and associated operating costs.
